Keep wood flooring 'clear of clutter'
Homeowners have been given advice on how to keep their wood flooring free of clutter.
Susan Llewellyn, owner of veteran interior design company Susan Llewellyn Associates, said that homeowners should try to be frugal in terms of the items they accrue and should not bother to keep unneeded things such as old clothing.
She went on to state that a common affliction for the modern homeowner living in small flats or apartments is a lack of storage space and gave some top tips for getting the most out of storage.
"The main thing as far as storage solutions are concerned is to put things away in boxes if you have got a garage or an attic or something like that," Ms Llewellyn said.
She added that storing items under a bed can often be another good option.
Similar advice was given by building firm Houston Builder, which recently advised homeowners to sort through their possessions when moving into a new property.
