Installing double glazing 'reduces heat loss'
Installing double glazing is a green home improvement that can help householders to reduce the amount of heat lost from their homes.
According to letting agent Belvoir, this is one of the projects a homeowner can carry out in order to improve the energy efficiency of their property and make it more attractive to people if they wish to rent it out.
Rick Flay, director at Belvoir Sheffield, said: "It can also reduce noise and will make the property seem much more private, especially if it is based in a busy built-up area."
He added that landlords should also use a neutral colour scheme to avoid putting potential tenants off with garish designs that do not suit most tastes.
Another tip given to homeowners by Mr Flay included updating the bathrooms and kitchens in their properties, adding that replacing tiles or cupboard doors could freshen up a room.
Earlier this month, interior designer Nina Campbell told the Telegraph that using muted tones can give a home contemporary style.
