Homeowner promotes eco-friendly stain
Homeowners have been advised that wood flooring can be stained as part of a renovation in an environmentally-friendly way.
Writing for the Colorado Daily Camera, columnist Anna Maria Basquez spoke to Steve Savage, founder, president and manager of Ellie's Eco Home Store in Boulder.
He promoted a range of eco-friendly products, such as beds and mattresses, and noted that many homeowners are unaware of the amount of chemicals that go into common bedding materials.
Ms Basquez spoke to one of Mr Savage's customers, Eric Lantz, who told her about the environmentally sound product he used to stain his wood floors.
"He said after buying no-VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) paints … and no-VOC stain for the wood flooring, it was a natural next step to spend extra for the mattress," she said.
Nigel's Eco Store promotes a range of environmentally-friendly home care products, such as Earth Friendly natural furniture polish, which can be used on any wood surface.
