Homeowner hit by tornado after installing wood flooring
A US homeowner was hit by a tornado less than 24 hours after fitting out his property with brand new wood flooring.
Writing for News Channel 9, Kevin Sims reported on the story of Jim Stanley, whose home was subject to a brutal attack from the E-F2 tornado which hit the Chickamauga Dam last week and demolished much of his house.
Less than a day after building contractors were finishing up the wood flooring installation, Mr Stanley had to call them back to take apart some of the property's unsalvageable sections.
"24 hours ago, those same guys from TDL Construction were finishing up the hard wood floors. Today those floors are soaked," said the publication.
It went on to state that Mr Stanley was "sick to his stomach" over the affair and the house will require major repairs before it becomes habitable.
In addition to the damage caused to Mr Stanley's property, News Channel 3 reported that a multi-car pileup also occurred due to the savage winds from E-F2.
