Home improvers 'ripping out baths'
Many householders are decided they can do without a bath in their property and are ripping them out as part of home improvement projects.
This is according to a study of 3,000 households by cleaning company Buster on behalf of National Plughole Week, which found that more than one in ten homeowners have removed the bath from their bathroom, reports the Telegraph.
A spokeswoman for the firm said: "The days of long, hot soaks are on the way out because we're working longer hours and getting through the front door later."
According to Waterwise, the increase in the number of people taking away their baths is because more people are choosing to take showers.
Last month, the Shower Doctor conducted a survey and found that one-fifth of those surveyed were in the middle of a home improvement project to improve their bathroom.
A spokesperson said work would not necessarily mean replacing the entire suite, but could include small DIY jobs such as adding a new shower head.
