Home improvements 'could get house ready for sale'
Carrying out home improvements on a property could help a householder to get their residence ready for sale and even allow them to charge a higher asking price.
According to Jessica Haynes of ecomparison, adding a fresh coat of paint to the walls of a house could be one simple home improvement that can get a property ready to go on the housing market.
She said: "Many homebuyers want something they can move into without the need to consider managing several home improvement tasks during their first few months of residence."
Ms Haynes added that although these home improvement projects will cost the householder money, they will pay for themselves if they are able to get a better price for their house afterwards.
A YouGov survey commissioned last month by New West End Company found that half of British homeowners are planning home improvements, with 41 per cent aiming to improve the value of their property, reports the Move Channel.
