Green wood flooring 'growing in popularity'

Green wood flooring has been promoted in a new guide to creating an eco-friendly home.

The Daily Reporter noted the increasing proliferation of sustainable materials and advised homeowners who are altering or fitting new wood floors to look into buying responsibly-sourced products.

"Shop for sustainable materials," said the guide. "Sustainable flooring is growing in popularity now that going green has truly taken off. Search for wood that has been harvested in an environmentally friendly way."

It went on to warn homeowners of the dangers of draughts, noting that fixing these issues will not only keep the house warmer - but can also lead to savings on energy bills.

Similarly, the guide recommended the use of double glazing, which can keep external noise "at bay" and allow heat to remain trapped inside a property.

A previous article for the website noted that wood flooring is a great way for homeowners to begin their green renovations.
