'Gorgeous' wood flooring features in US eco home
The wood flooring of one American eco home has been praised in a new article.
Writing for LA Observed, columnist Jenny Burman reported on the Echo Park Historical Society's Urban Sustainable Living Tour.
She spoke to former member of the organisation's board Chicken Corner, who had joined this year's tour as a "home tourist".
Ms Corner was "delighted" by this year's offerings, which centred on how to apply environmentally-friendly adaptations to older properties.
She praised the range of features showcased by the tour's 10 exhibition houses and Ms Burman noted some of her favourite aspects of the period homes.
"There were walls made of seashell plaster; a gorgeous floor of reclaimed wood; an urban farm with 17 chickens and about as many raised vegetable beds," she said.
This comes after a recent Luxist column praised the way in which rugs had been applied to the expansive wood flooring of one estate in St Louis, Missouri.
