Gloves and goggles recommended for DIYers
Women who wish to carry out DIY in their home have been advised to invest in a good quality pair of gloves.
According to Colleen Pyra, development and volunteer coordinator for Habitat for Humanity Desert Foothills, there are lots of ways women can make themselves more comfortable when carrying out DIY.
She said a good pair of gloves could help a woman to get a safer grip on a power tool and said safety goggles could also be a good purchase.
Speaking to ABC15.com, she said: "There are many women-friendly products out there to help you do the work and still feel feminine while doing it."
Ms Pyra added that women who struggle with the weight of power tools should purchase lighter products that feature a lithium ion battery.
One DIY task women could take on is replacing their toilet.
Kathy Price-Robinson of DIY Life said while DIYers may need another person to help to lift the bowl, there should be no problems with the job unless something goes wrong.
