Garden landscaping 'can increase home's value'
Householders could improve the value of their property and make it a more attractive proposition for potential buyers by landscaping their gardens.
This is according to Christine Zibas, a writer for Gather, who stated that summer is a good time of year for homeowners to start taking on improvement projects.
Those who like their house to be a cool place can even utilise their garden area to reduce the temperature inside their residence, she added.
Ms Zibas explained that adding shrubs and trees to the outside of the property cools it down by slowing the natural exchange of heat.
She said: "Care must also be taken that trees are not planted too closely to the house as this risks damage to the foundation."
The comments from Ms Zibas come shortly after research by Gocompare.com found that the majority of British householders are planning to carry out some kind of improvement work in their gardens over the coming months.
