Fitting toilet 'can be DIY project'
Householders who wish to save themselves some money can fit a new toilet in their bathroom without employing a plumber.
According to Kathy Price-Robinson, this is a home improvement that can be carried out by a property owner without bringing in professional help.
Writing for DIY Life, she stated that after flushing the toilet, the excess water can be removed from the tank with sponges and a bucket.
She added that as the bowl can weigh up to 150 pounds, it may be best to get somebody to help to lift it once the bolts securing it to the floor are removed.
"With no pipes to contend with, all that's involved is shutting off the water supply valve, which is on the wall," Ms Price-Robinson said.
"The job is not difficult as long as nothing goes wrong."
This comes after Jessica Haynes of ecomparison said carrying out home improvements could help to get a property ready to be sold.
