Expert claims a gradual approach to renovation could save money
Despite the current economic turbulence, many homeowners are still seeking the advice of interior designers, according to one renovation expert.
President of the Maryland branch of the American Society of Interior Designers Laura Kimball told the Baltimore Sun that many renovators still consult the experts but others do not want the large price associated with a full service.
It was her opinion that a lot of home improvement costs could be cut by conducting the renovation in a number of small steps and only using hired help to advise on minor changes.
Furthermore, Ms Kimball suggested that DIY enthusiasts on a budget should consult an interior designer if they require help with low-cost improvements such as a change of colour scheme or furniture.
Her advice echoes that of Gerry Frederick who indicated in a Daily Townsman article that minor gardening improvements could save homeowners money, as well as adding value to a property.
