DIYers told to use sustainable materials for decking
Householders who want to create a decking area outside their home have been told to consider using sustainable materials such as pine.
Composite wood may be another option for these homeowners, according to FrontDoor.com and DIYnetwork.com.
The two websites teamed up to offer DIYers advice on home improvements that can be carried out during the summer.
Among the recommended projects was to add a patio to increase the amount of space a home has to offer.
The websites said: "Constructing a patio with regard to the proportion and property of the home will ensure the biggest return on investment."
Other recommendations included replacing windows to make a property more energy efficient and using colours to make a concreted area more visually appealing.
Carrying out DIY could also make a man more attractive to women, the results of a new survey from Bosch have suggested, with more than a third of the females polled stating they want their man to be able to put up shelves.
