DIYers 'can easily cover up tablecloth stains'
There is an easy way to cover up tablecloth stains, one writer has noted.
In a piece for the Guardian, Ruth Singer said Applique can be a good method to transform a plain and vintage tablecloth into something much more stylish and contemporary, as well as ensuring those spillages go unnoticed.
She added: "You could also use a vintage linen or heavy cotton sheet - I used an embroidered Swiss cotton sheet which was in perfect condition and wonderfully heavy."
But those who are starting out in the creative stage could be better off with organic cotton sheeting, which is extra wide, she said.
People keen on putting this advice into practice will require safety pins, a hand sewing kit, large pieces of organic cotton, embroidery threads and items that can be used as circle templates such as a CD or a plate.
Other ways of making home improvements could be to update a bathroom in the house, which is what Ronnie Whelan, editor of Essential Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom, recently recommended.
