'Clean wood flooring frequently', homeowners advised
Homeowners looking to keep their wood flooring in top shape have been advised to perform regular maintenance.
Speaking in the Creston News Advertiser, home improvement author Donna Smallin shared some of her best tips for wood flooring care.
She highlighted the importance of regular care, noting that there is a range of effective and affordable cleaning solutions specifically designed for wood floors.
"Clean your bare floors frequently, especially wood floors. Grit tracked into your house from outside can easily grind into the flooring as your family walks around," advised Ms Smallin.
She went on to note that accidental spills should be cleaned off wood floors as soon as possible, as they can sometimes cause stains.
Similar advice was given in a recent article for Tips-opinions.com, in which columnist Andrew Veazey suggested homeowners make use of rugs to protect their wood floors from wear.
He noted that the majority of damage to wood floors occurred due to dust, grit and sand.
