Citizen's Advice welcomes efficiency measures
Citizen's Advice has given its backing to government proposals to increase the energy efficiency of homes across the UK.
In the Queen's speech at the Houses of Parliament earlier this week, the coalition's plans for the next 18 months of government were outlined.
Among them is a commitment to transforming the provision of energy efficiency measures, through the proposed energy, security and green economy bill.
Teresa Perchard, director of policy at Citizens Advice, said: "There is a need to ensure that the proposed method of achieving this - through a pay as you save model - works for people on low incomes."
Ms Perchard added that this is also very important for those people who currently lie in fuel poverty or in the private rented sector.
The government had already announced its commitment to green home improvements last week, in a document outlining its plans for the next five years of government.
