Choose sustainable and efficient products, says DIY expert

Tom Kraeutler, home improvement expert and radio host, claims that consumers should pick sustainable and efficient products during this DIY season.

 Speaking to the Earth Times, Kraeutler suggested a range of sustainable solutions to fit whether homeowners are looking to add value to their property or just spruce it up by adding features such as laminate flooring.
 

In the kitchen, Kraeutler and his radio co-host Leslie Segrete claimed that saving water without sacrificing style or performance is "critical". He suggested purchasing faucets with water-saving design features and a traditional look.


Roofing is also a huge issue for homeowners and Kraeutler warned that it "takes more of a beating than just about any other part of your home".


His key advice was to pick a roofing product which is both long-lasting and sustainable.


Kraeutler's advice follows UK homeowners being urged by Essex Lofts to boost the values of their homes through the use of simple painting and decorating.
