Engineered wood flooring 'perfect anywhere'

Engineered wood flooring is versatile enough to be installed in any room in the home, it has been stated.

Flooring expert Michel Collin said there is less risk of swelling in engineered wood flooring than in other materials because of the way it is put together.

He added that this meant homeowners could lay it over existing floor coverings without needing to undergo any expensive or time-consuming preparation work.

Mr Collin also pointed out that installing engineered wood flooring could give a home the same look as a solid wood floor with less expense.

Speaking to the Niagara Falls Review, he said: "Its versatility and timeless appeal make it an ideal match in any decor, from the basement to the bedroom."

This comes after Rupert Smith said in a piece for Ezine Articles that engineered wood flooring can be walked on immediately after installation as it comes pre-finished.

It can also be refinished later on to restore the original look, he stated.
