Engineered wood flooring 'is an exciting alternative'

Engineered wood flooring has been hailed as a great alternative to traditional materials.

Nishit Mediratta, commercial director of Kenyan wood flooring retailer PG Bison, recently told Coastweek about the beneficial qualities of engineered wood flooring.

"Engineered wood flooring is an exciting alternative to solid hardwood flooring," he told the publication.

Mr Mediratta went on to state that engineered wood flooring can be superior than its traditional counterparts in that it has increased resistance to water, in addition to retaining the aesthetic benefits of regular wood floors.

He noted that the parts of the material which can be seen are totally comprised of hardwood, but contains less than 85 per cent less timber than a normal piece of wood flooring.

This comes after an Express and Star guide praised engineered wood flooring for its stability and resistance to moisture.
