Engineered wood flooring 'comes pre-finished'

Engineered wood flooring has an advantage over laminate floors as it comes pre-finished.

That is the opinion of Rupert Smith, who said in a piece for Ezine Articles that engineered wood flooring could be the perfect choice for people who cannot decide between a laminate floor and a solid wood floor for their home.

Mr Smith said as engineered wood flooring comes pre-finished, it can be walked on immediately after installation as there is no need to sand or seal the wood.

Engineered wood flooring is also simple to install, he added.

He said: "Compared to solid wood which must first be nailed to a sub-flooring, engineered wood can be nailed down to the floor, glued down, or can also serve as a floating floor."

However, it can only be refinished a few times, depending on its thickness, he added.

Engineered wood flooring drew more praise recently when Norah Faith said in a post for eHow that it is a good selection as it has an excellent look.
